Mohawk Elementary became a Leader in Me School in 2017. Our Year One story focused on learning the 7 Habits, helping families to become familiar with the 7 Habits, establishing our staff action teams, and starting our Student LightHouse Team. We called this our Construction Year as we focused on the culture and environment of our school.
The Big Rocks for our Year Two implementation have focused on using Leadership Notebooks, setting personal goals, holding student-led conferences, and meeting in student-interest based learning groups that we call Tribes. "Leadership is Sweet at Mohawk Elementary" has been our theme as we worked to align our systems to make improvements in our academic programs.
During the 2018-2019 school year, we also formulated our first building-wide goal. By the end of the 2018-2019 school year, 85% of our students will meet their yearly reading MAP goals. We are working hard to include student voice and choice in our programming and we are excited to celebrate our successes with you!
