Mohawk FFA members attend Session 1 of Ohio FFA Camp Muskingum

Two members of the Mohawk FFA chapter spent the first week of June developing leadership skills, making new friendships, and enjoying outdoor activities while attending Ohio FFA Camp Muskingum.

Danielle Searls and Raine Glick represented Mohawk FFA at the general session of camp held June 1-5, 2026 on the shores of Leesville Lake. Accompanying the students was FFA advisor Mrs. Peschke.

This year's camp theme, inspired by the television show Survivor, challenged campers to work together in tribes and compete in tournament-style activities throughout the week. Members participated in a wide variety of recreational and leadership-focused events, including volleyball, kickball, cornhole, archery, axe throwing, kayaking, canoeing, motorboat rides, fishing, leadership workshops, and outdoor/conservation education programs.

The camp experience provided students with opportunities to strengthen their leadership abilities, build teamwork skills, and connect with FFA members from across Ohio.

A special highlight of the week was recognition received by Searls for her contributions to fundraising efforts benefiting Nationwide Children's Hospital. As part of the recognition, she was selected to choose a member of the Ohio FFA State Officer Team to receive a pie in the face. Searls chose retiring State Officer Malainy Boes (Upper Sandusky FFA), drawing laughs and cheers from fellow campers during the event.

Ohio FFA Camp Muskingum has provided leadership and personal development opportunities for Ohio FFA members for generations, since 1942! Through hands-on activities, workshops, and team challenges, students gain valuable skills that can be applied in their schools, communities, and future careers.
