ACE Update District Communication 4/13/2023

Parents/Guardians, Staff, and Faculty,

There have been quite a few questions regarding the ACE program and reimbursement, which has been great for us to gain a better understanding and help others. We have learned quite a bit over the last 24 hours for the program. In essence, a school trip is for an educational purpose, but must be: mathematical, science, historical, or the arts in nature, to be covered by the ACE funds. Unfortunately we learned today, the state has decided not to fund the Mohawk 6th grade camp.

Nowak Tours and the Washington D.C. Trip for Mohawk Local Schools 8th grade is covered this year and NEXT YEAR and is already an approved vendor for ACE funds. To be reimbursed through the ACE program, one must meet the household financial requirements as described under INCOME heading below.

For those who have applied and did not meet the residency requirement is because Mohawk Local Schools does not meet the chronic absenteeism rate as described below.  Remember that only ONE condition below needs to be met (Residency, Income, or Government Social Program Participation.)

If you are a parent and have questions about the ACE program or eligibility, please refer to ACE OHIO PROGRAM Parental Support Team, at (567) 267-7700.

Finally, any ACE applications MUST be submitted by the parents/guardians prior to the trip date to be eligible for any funding. Below is the recent information from ACE regarding eligibility and how to apply for reimbursement through ACE.
